Ready for more bright and bold platforming action featuring a chameleon and a bat? Course you are.
Today, developer Playtonic Games and publisher Team17 have released a new trailer for the upcoming sequel to Yooka-Laylee, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. Featuring the same lovable duo, this sequel places its emphasis on traditional side-scrolling platforming. And if the trailer’s anything to go by, it looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. Give it a watch:
As can be seen in the trailer, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair has a 3D hub world, and from there, players will find access to 20 unique 2.5D levels. However, each of these levels can be transformed by uncovering secrets and puzzles, essentially making each one into a completely new level to complete. Each one has a beetle for the pair to rescue, and of course a tonne of collectibles to pick up.
There’s no set release date for Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair just yet, but it’s set to release on PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Switch in the fourth quarter of this year.
