The PC requirements for Remedy Entertainment’s Control have been revealed, and unsurprisingly you’re going to need a capable machine to do it Justice.
Set for release on 27th August on PS4, Xbox One and PC, the requirements for Control have been unveiled thanks to its listing on the Epic Games Store. You can see the full minimum and recommended specs below, but the gist of it is that you’re going to need at least an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or an AMD RX580 to run it, along with 8GB of RAM and a fairly recent i5 or Ryzen 3 processor.
OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 / AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 / AMD RX580
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-8600K / AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080ti / AMD Radeon VII
RAM: 16 GB
We presume that the miminum requirements are geared towards playing the game with low settings at 1080p. So, you’re probably going to want to make sure your machine is closer to the recommended settings, or even better than them. Unsurprisingly, if you want to enable Ray–Tracing in the game, you’re going to need at least an RTX 2060. An RTX 2080 is recommended, however. The Epic Games Store listing also reveals that Control will have an uncapped framerate, and will also support G–Sync and Freesync.
A third–person shooter with Metroidvania elements, we’re really looking forward to the release of Control. Remedy Entertainment has a proven track record in the genre, and after thoroughly enjoying titles like Alan Wake and Quantum Break, it leaves us confident that the game will have us pinned to our seats. Though we guess we’ll find out for sure later next month.
