Cuphead is Getting the Netflix Treatment

Well, we weren’t expecting this.

Studio MDHR has announced that a TV series based on its Cuphead game is now in production by Netflix Animation. It will be called The Cuphead Show, and yes, it’ll also star Mugman. No release window has yet been provided for the show.

A joint venture between Netflix and King Features Syndicate, The Cuphead Show will reportedly expand upon the characters and world of the Cuphead game. It’s set to be a character-driven comedy that follows the escapades of the impulsive Cuphead across the Inkwell Isles, with his less troublesome brother Mugman getting caught up in the mischief. While Netflix is handling the animation of the show, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer of Studio MDHR are serving as Executive Producers. Thankfully it’s going to keep the classic 1930’s Fleischer cartoon style.

Cuphead is available on Xbox One, Switch and PC, and we quite like it. Its The Delicious Last Course DLC was recently delayed to 2020 on all platforms.
