Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is Coming to Console This October

Remember Super Monkey Ball? Sure you do! It’s been a while, but the series is making a return later this year.

Well, sort of. We’re not getting a new Super Monkey Ball game, but Banana Blitz is getting a HD remaster. Originally released way back in 2006 on Nintendo Wii, the HD remaster is bringing with it modernised graphics, an updated control system, online leaderboards and an all-new minigame.

That minigame is Decathlon, and as the name suggests, it’ll task players with completing 10 different minigames in a row. The leaderboards are also brand new, allowing players to complete in score attack and time attack modes.

The original content of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is of course making a return, which packs in 100 single-player levels and a series of competitive minigames to be played against friends and family.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz is set to launch on 29th October this year on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. A Steam release will be following later in winter, with a date yet to be announced. Whether you’re new to the series or a long-time Super Monkey Ball fan, this is one to watch out for. Give the trailer a watch below.
