Street Fighter 2 was an arcade smash and rightly so; even today this 90s brawler still holds its own against more recent offerings.

Released back when arcades were still a viable source of income, it also lead to a number of other companies jumping on the fighting game bandwagon.

The resultant copycat brawlers ranged from the entertaining through to the utterly awful, and it wasn’t unusual to see arcades filled with nothing but fighting games.
