The grim city-building survival game from 11 Bit Studios launches its first DLC expansion The Rifts, kicking off the newly available Frostpunk season pass.
Prepare once again to enter the icy grip of Frostpunk. In the new expansion The Rifts, players will have access to a new map in endless mode, where rifts in the ice can be bridged using new mechanics, giving access to new areas as your city expands.
The Rifts is available as an individual purchase, but also comes as part of the Frostpunk Season Pass, which will also give players access to two more major expansions that will be released in the coming months.
The Last Autumn expansion is set for release in quarter four of 2019, promising game-changing mechanics and unique architecture. The cryptically named Project TVADGYCGJR will be next, the title apparently being a code that may give a hint to the content of the DLC. It will take a smarter person than me to crack it!
All players will also be getting a free update today, separate from the new DLC. This will include three new Endless Mode maps: Frozen Groves, Snowdrifts and Hanging Rock.
Frostpunk is available on PC, and it’s coming to Xbox One and PS4 this October. You can keep up with further announcements on the Frostpunk official website. Check out the season pass trailer below.
