In a new documentary from Noclip about ‘The Fall & Rise of Hitman‘, Danny O’Dwyer talks to IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak, who has plans for a Hitman 3 and is working on a secret new IP.
Noclip is an entirely crowdfunded video game documentary company, who have already released popular videos on their YouTube channel taking us behind the scenes of big studios such as Bethesda and CD Projekt Red.
However, Noclip founder Danny O’Dwyer recently visited the headquarters of IO Interactive in Denmark, the team behind the popular Hitman franchise.
In the documentary, Danny makes a brief comment about the company’s plans for Hitman 3:
“…much of the team is working on new Hitman content, and looking ahead to a third Hitman game, one that Hakan says may once again go episodic…”.
A lot of people interpreted this to mean that Hitman 3 was already in development, but Danny took to Twitter to clear up the misunderstanding, saying: “For the record, our doc never said Hitman 3 was in development”.
For the record, our doc never said Hitman 3 was in development, only that it was planned, and they were considering the episodic model for it. The only thing we confirmed was that some of the Copenhagen studio was working on a new project which sounds like a new IP.

However, IO Interactive’s CEO Hakan Abrak did talk about a secret and exciting new IP which is being worked on.
“We’re looking into the future with new things…” he says. “We’re looking forward to bringing new stuff as well, apart from growing Hitman.”
As for what exactly what that “new stuff” is, we’ll have to wait and see. You can watch Noclip’s documentary on YouTube.
