Can’t figure out how to sleep in Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey? Here’s how.

In Ancestors, sleep is as almost important as eating and drinking, so you need to make sure to rest your characters regularly.

You can tell when your hominid is tired because the screen will start to go black as their eyelids close. To sleep, do the following:

  • Find a safe place to sleep. You can’t sleep clinging to a tree but you can sleep standing on top of a branch.
  • Drop anything you have in your hands by pressing the right bumper button, switching hands if necessary. But you don’t need to drop any babies you’re carrying.
  • Hold down the “A” button till you’ve slept for at least a few hours; ideally, wait till dawn.

And there you go. Lack of sleep isn’t as hazardous in Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey as running out of food or water but if your eyes start to close at an inconvenient moment you’ll find yourself in trouble – so make sure your simian gets some shuteye.
