Techland and Square Enix released a 26 minute long gameplay video for Dying Light 2, the long-awaited sequel to 2015’s parkour zombie hit.
The video was presented behind closed doors at E3 and Gamescom this year, but thankfully it has now been released to the rest of the world in a livestream that happened on Monday.
Not only do you get a look at the gameplay, but lead game designer Tymon Smektala also provides a commentary, giving you the details that you might not be able to pick up just by watching.
Dying Light 2 puts us into the role of Aiden Caldwell, struggling to survive in The City – the last bastion of humanity in this dark age. While different factions fight for power, and normal people fight for their lives, the choices that Aiden makes will shape the narrative and the world of the game.
Reportedly, the open world of Dying Light 2 will be four times the size of the original game‘s sandbox, and will have an updated day/night cycle. The fluid movement and combat feels the same, but there are a few tweaks and updates that you can see here in the trailer. Give it a watch below.
Dying Light 2 is scheduled for release in Spring 2020.
