While River City Girls is essentially a side-scrolling beat ’em up, beating it in one sitting would be a bit of a challenge. Therefore, you’re going to want to save your progress.
Like most games these days, River City Girls has an autosave system, so you don’t have to really worry about losing too much progress. The game saves pretty much every time you move from one screen to another – look out for the word ‘Saving’ in the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
It is also possible to force River City Girls to save your progress if you need to quit it, however.
If you bring up the game’s menu while playing, you can press the left and right shoulder buttons on your controller to browse through pages of features and options. When you’re on the Settings page, you’ll notice that there’s an option to ‘Save & Quit’ at the bottom. Select that and your progress will be saved and you’ll be taken back to the game’s title screen. Then you can turn the game off without worrying about losing any progress.
