Open-world space shooter EVERSPACE 2 has launched a crowdfunding campaign, as it aims to move far beyond the scope of it’s roguelike predecessor.
While EVERSPACE was a roguelike, the sequel will be an open-world space shooter, aiming to far surpass the original in size, scope and quality.
EVERSPACE 2 will feature include Diablo-like RPG elements, side missions, a focused narrative and more. The team at ROCKFISH is working with Streamline Studios and Volta as external development partners, and also Joshua Rubin, who has been involved with productions such as Destiny, Assassin’s Creed II, and The Walking Dead.
At time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign has raised roughly £130,000 of its £400,911 (€450,000) goal. Some backers will be able to get access to an exclusive playable demo later this year, but the rest of us will have to wait until September 2020 for the early access version of the game, with a full release scheduled for PC and consoles the following year. If you want to help make EVERSPACE 2 a reality, don’t forget to donate to the project here!
