Rejoice Call of Duty fans, as the latest entry in the series, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, has a campaign again.
Playing as a variety of characters you’ll battle terrorists across the globe in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s campaign. And as a re-imagining of the original Call of Duty series with the same name, it’s very gritty and stars a younger Captain Price who’s rather likeable.
As usual, however, it’s probably not worth buying Call of Duty: Modern Warfare for its campaign alone as it’s rather short. Playing on regular difficulty, your first playthrough is likely to take somewhere between four to six hours. Granted there are more difficulty levels, including the ultra-hard Realism difficulty, but aside from a single achievement/trophy, there’s no real reason to tackle it.
Completing each campaign mission on any difficulty unlocks its reward, which varies between a new operator and an XP boost of some sort. There are no collectables to be found in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare‘s campaign either. Though there are some achievements/trophies to be earned for completing specific tasks within some missions.
So, in a nutshell, you’re likely to blast through Call of Duty: Modern: Warfare‘s campaign in about five hours, and you’re only likely to return to it if you’re an achievement or trophy hunter. Unless you’re also going to play multiplayer or Spec Ops, you’re probably best waiting for the game to go on sale if you want to play its campaign.
