Wondering how to fast travel in Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout? Here’s everything you need to know.
The latest game in Koei Tecmo’s long-running series, Atelier Ryza puts you in the shoes of the titular Ryza, a young woman who has just discovered the enchanting world of alchemy. Along with her two friends, Lent and Tao, she sets out on a journey that’ll have her fighting foes, collecting material and discovering many secrets.
The world to explore in Atelier Ryza is vast, and at times labyrinthine. It can be a chore to traverse on foot, especially if your next quest is taking you to the otherwise of the map. Thankfully, the game packs in a very handy fast travel system that you’ll unlock very early on in the game.
Dotted all around Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout’s world are guide boards. These look just like notice boards; big, wooden boards that you’ll find near buildings or at the entrance to a new place. Interacting with one will bring up a fast travel menu.
You can’t fast travel to every place in Atelier Ryza, but you can travel to numerous handy locations – and the more you play, the more fast travel locations you’ll unlock.
You can also fast travel back to Ryza’s bedroom at any point: on Nintendo Switch, simply press the ‘-‘ button when not in battle or a cutscene, and you’ll be prompted to confirm whether or not you want to fast travel. Handily, there’s a guide board just outside of Ryza’s house, too, so it’s a useful place to warp to if you need to fast travel but have no guide boards nearby.
