Adorable robot companion BD-1 is the focus of this new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order trailer, in which some of the team at Respawn discuss his design.
Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is getting closer and closer. With just a few weeks left until release, I can almost feel the excitement in the air from all the Star Wars fans hoping this will be the single-player Jedi experience they’ve been waiting for.
To keep us all hyped, EA just dropped a new teaser video giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the design process of BD-1, the cutesy mechanical companion of game protagonist Cal.
We get to hear from the various animators, artists and sound designers who had the job of turning this hunk of metal into a character with real charm and personality.
BD-1 is the perfect helper for any researcher or explorer to take on field missions, with his ability to traverse all types of terrain and knack for spotting important objects. The new video explains how the team took inspiration from Luke carrying Yoda, thinking that it would be great to have BD-1 ride around with the player in the same way.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 15th. Check out the new “Designing BD-1” trailer below, or get more details on the game by heading over to the EA website.
