Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong Announced for 2021

Bigben has announced another RPG set in the World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, from the developer behind The Council.

Announced over the weekend at PDXCON, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is a faithful adaption of the Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop roleplaying game’s fifth edition, brought to us by The Council developer Big Bad Wolf.

It seems like it’s a good time to be a fan of the World of Darkness, what with indie adventure game Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York coming later this year and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 planned for 2020. This latest project is a bit further off though, with a release date set for 2021.

Much like The Council, Swansong is set to be a narrative-focused RPG experience, weaving a complex story between the perspectives of three different vampires. All belonging to different clans of the Camarilla, the player must use the different points of view to distinguish fact from fiction. Above all, you must uphold the Masquerade, the law designed to conceal the existence of vampires from humans; even in the face of murder, conspiracy and a deadly power struggle.

“My past experience as an editor and author of role-playing games, and also as Editor-in-Chief of an RPG magazine, is proof of how important this project means to me personally,” says Benoit Clerc, Head of Publishing at Bigben. “Just like me, many fans have been waiting a long time for a new adaptation of this cult game, which will be developed by one of the most talented studios of its generation.”

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is planned for release in 2021.

"Cynical", "sarcastic" and "irritable" are just some of the words that have been used to describe Diggy B, the other words usually being four letters long and incredibly rude. He can normally be found with a controller in his hands and strives to provide acerbic rants on all things gaming, from Gears of War to Candy Crush.
