Hideo Kojima Wants to Make “the Scariest Horror Game”

The hyper-realistic visual of P.T. is one of the main contributors to its terrifying nature

Now Death Stranding has been unleashed upon the world, Hideo Kojima is looking ahead to his next project, which he hopes will be “the scariest horror game”.

Horror fans are sure to be ecstatic at the news, especially after having the Kojima-led Silent Hills tragically snatched away in 2015 when he and Konami parted ways.

Kojima was of course responsible for P.T., the playable teaser for Silent Hills, which is undeniably one of the most beloved and influential titles in modern horror; despite basically being an advert for a game that no longer exists.

The acclaimed director tweeted out that he will be watching scary movies to inspire him, specifically a Thai horror film called The Eye, which he apparently tried to watch during the development of P.T., but found it too scary to finish.

After the massive let down of Silent Hills being cancelled, this is the exact news that the horror community wanted to hear. It’ll likely be a long time before we’re playing Kojima’s game or even hearing anything more about it, but just knowing Kojima’s plans is enough to keep us all hopeful.
