It’s the start of a new year! Which means it’s the start of a new month, which means there’s a new batch of free games available with PS Plus.
Sony are choosing to kick off the decade with Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Goat Simulator, both available with PS Plus until February 3rd. This means you only have a very short time left to grab December’s games, Titanfall 2 and Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame, so you’d better head to the PlayStation Store pronto if you haven’t claimed them already.
While Uncharted is undoubtedly a very strong series, being one of the PlayStation’s biggest exclusives, it is likely that many PS Plus subscribers will already own The Nathan Drake Collection. And although I can attest to the fact that Goat Simulator can keep a young child entertained for a while, many might consider it a pointless joke game.
This is the impression I got from the comments on the official PlayStation Blog at any rate, with multiple PS Plus members voicing their disappointment with this month’s pickings.
“Uncharted is cool but most of us who’ve been on PlayStation for a while already have bought and played those games.” Says user. User MapsHawk adds: “This month we get 2 decade old games and a joke game that should’ve never seen the light of day. If they want more subs, they need to give us better stuff.”
Obviously it’s a disappointment if you do already own January’s selection, but if you’re somebody who’s managed to avoid playing the Uncharted games up to this point, this is your chance to jump into a great series.
