Using Super Attacks is pretty much critical to your success in combat during Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
Aside from causing large amounts of damage, Super Attacks often also have other benefits such as stunning your opponent, or sending them crashing down to earth and allowing you to follow up.
To use Super Attacks during combat in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, hold down the left shoulder button to view the Super Attacks available to you, then press the indicated face button to perform one. Super Attacks require varying amounts of Ki to be used, however, and if one is greyed out it means you don’t have enough Ki to perform it. You can see how much Ki is required via the icon to the left of the Super Attack’s name.
You can change the Super Attacks available to you when out of combat by changing your Super Attack Palette. You’ll need to learn some additional Super Attacks first though. And to keep your Ki topped up so you can use them in combat, simply hold the Ki Charge button, which is Triangle on PS4 and Y on Xbox One. Super Attacks are particularly useful when Surge is activated. You’ll be able to work them seamlessly into combos, causing great amounts of damage. Try it out for yourself.
