Darksiders Genesis may look like a Diablo clone, but it’s a Darksiders game through and through.
Across 17 missions you’ll hack and slash at enemies, solve puzzles, and overcome platforming challenges in Darksiders Genesis. And with Strife playable in addition to War, it’s also a twin-stock shooter if you want it to be. But how long does it take to beat it?
Darksiders Genesis is a fairly sizeable game, with lots of secrets to uncover. Your first playthrough is likely to take around 12-15 hours on normal difficulty if you go off the beaten path now and again to try and obtain upgrades and collectables. If you want to find everything, however, you’ll need to return to previously completed missions with abilities that you unlock further into the game. So, if you want to max out the stats of your characters and find all collectables, expect to put in at least 20 hours.
Like many games though, there are lots of other factors that might mean your time with the game differs from another player. There are multiple difficulty levels, for example, with achievements/trophies tied to them. There are also many arena battles to complete, and the game features both split-screen and online co-op.
So, if you just want to see the credits roll on the story, Darksiders Genesis will give you about 12-15 hours of gameplay. If you want to see and do everything it has to offer, however, then expect to put in at least 30 hours or so.
