Sorry FIFA, the only football game we’re really looking to playing right now is Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions.
Recently announced for PS4, Switch and PC, we don’t have a release date for Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions yet. What we do have, however, is some details about its story mode.
Allowing players to relive the iconic story of Tsubasa Ozora, the Tsubasa Episode will cover the whole National Middle School Tournament if you’re familiar with it. If not, you’ll just be able to enjoy the over-the-top action and enjoy the story for the first time.
In epic matches you’ll come across the Tachibana twins, Kojiro Hyuga, Hikaru Matsuyama and more, and they’ll all be at the top of their game. What we’re excited about, however, is how cutscenes are woven into the gameplay.
Depending on the score and the flow of the match, cutscenes may be triggered that will be familiar to fans of the anime and manga. There are also some new surprises in store as well, though, to keep fans on their toes.
Check out the new story mode trailer below for a taste of what’s to come. If it doesn’t make you want to play Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions right now, we don’t know what will.
