Discover Final Fantasy VII Remake’s Characters in Latest Featurette

The second episode of the “Inside Final Fantasy VII Remake” documentary is now live on YouTube, and it’s all about the game’s story and characters.

Get ready to go behind the scenes of the Final Fantasy VII Remake with this new featurette, giving us detailed and in-depth interviews with a handful of the lead designers, directors and writers behind one of the most anticipated games of our time.

Episode 2 introduces us to the plot and setting of Final Fantasy VII, as well as the main characters that we’ll be accompanying on their journey. As a modern reimagining of a decades-old game, it has also apparently been necessary to develop Cloud Strife et al slightly differently to give the game a bit more depth, compexity and realism.

“The original game was released 23 years ago, so I had actually forgotten quite a lot about it!” begins Yoshinori Kitase, director of Final Fantasy VII and producer on Remake. “What happens to Cloud and the other main characters, like Aerith and Tifa, or their rival Sephiroth, so it was fascinating to be able to return to these characters again.”

“For this game I have gone much deeper into the inner psychology of Cloud, the main character.” adds writer Kazushige Nojima. “In the original I depicted him as a cool and stylish character. However, this time, he can miss the mark and be a little cringe-worthy at times. His cool facade can often slip. Because he wants people to accept him and respect him, he puts on a front.”

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to the PlayStation 4 on April 10th. Don’t forget to check out the new featurette below, or you can check out Episode 1 here. For more information about the game, head over to the Square Enix website.

"Cynical", "sarcastic" and "irritable" are just some of the words that have been used to describe Diggy B, the other words usually being four letters long and incredibly rude.
