The Last of Us: Part 2 might have been indefinitely delayed, and others too are likely to be pushed back as a result of coronavirus, but right now you can rest assured that Cyberpunk 2077 is still set for a September release.
In a look back at 2019 on the CD PROJEKT website, Adam Kiciński, President and CEO of the CD PROJEKT Group, has assured fans that Cyberpunk 2077 is still on track for its announced release date despite the entire CD PROJEKT team working from home since March. “Our plans haven’t changed – we’re steaming towards the September release of Cyberpunk”, he said.
The news will be sweet to the ears of many, but September is still a fair bit away; things could change between now and then. Not that we want the release date to slip – we’re very much looking forward to getting stuck into Cyberpunk 2077, especially after what we’ve seen of it. Working from home undoubtedly introduces complications into development, though. And more importantly, we want all members of the CD PROJEKT team to remain safe. Still, set for release on 17th September for PS4, Xbox One and PC, we’ll be happy if the game remains something for us to look forward to in the not-so-distant future.
