Sony’s Play At Home Initiative Gives You Four Free Games

In an attempt to help us all keep safe and contain the spread of COVID-19, Sony has announced the Play At Home initiative.

The first component of the Play At Home initiative is free games, so you can keep busy while safely sat in your home. From April 15th until May 5th, Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey are free to download from the PlayStation Store. That means anyone with a PS4 can indulge themselves in four brilliant games without putting a dent in their bank account. Even better, once you redeem the games, they’re yours to keep forever.

The second component of the Play At Home initiative aims to help indie developers. Acknowledging that independent developers form the “heart and soul of the gaming community”, Sony has earmarked a sum of $10,000,000 to help those affected by the coronavirus pandemic. More details about the fund, including how to apply and its criteria, will be made available soon.

So, if you own a PS4, make sure you get Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection downloaded and played if you’re at a loss for what to do. Containing the first three Uncharted games, they’re all very entertaining. Journey is also brilliant if you haven’t yet played it. And if you’re an independent developer suffering because of COVID-19, keep an eye on Sony channels to find out more about the initiative when the criteria goes live.
