Yesterday, digital artist Bosslogic created a piece of key art for the next Assassin’s Creed game, revealing its theme and title.
The reveal happened over an epic eight-hour stream where viewers could watch the incredible artist at work. Honestly, watching Bosslogic’s processes was mesmerising, and the finished piece of artwork – up above – is simply stunning. To see how that all came together was awe-inspiring. Seriously, I need to up my Photoshop game. The full stream is still available, or you can watch a condensed 4-minute version here.
It also may or may not be my new desktop background wallpaper.
The finished picture reveals what early leaks have told us all along: the next Assassin’s Creed game will have a Viking/norse theme. Called Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Bosslogic’s image suggests at least two very different locations. There’s the snowy backdrop on the left, and viking ships out at sea; and the right looks decidedly Anglo-saxon. We’re going to hazard a guess that we’ll be spending some time in Scotland. And no doubt there’ll be at-sea sections too, popularised by Black Flag. We all love a good excuse to captain a ship.
While the title image already reveals a lot about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, we’ll be getting a full unveiling of the game today. At 4pm BST/11am EST, there’ll be a world premiere of a cinematic trailer. You can watch it on YouTube, or tune into the embed below.
Excited? We’re excited. We’ll have more about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla after the reveal.
