Deep Silver has announced Windbound – Brave the Storm, a wonderful looking new IP created by Australian developer 5 Lives Studio.
Set to launch digitally on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC on 28th August, Windbound – Brave the Storm aims to revitalise the survival genre, with a visual style that’s hugely reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and that’s not a bad thing.
In Windbound – Brave the Storm, players take control of Kara, who has found herself shipwrecked in an unknown land. Played from a 3rd-person viewpoint, Kara must learn to adapt and survive, engaging in hunting, exploration and crafting. And slowly but surely, she must also solve the mysteries of the islands she’s found herself amongst.
To explore the Forbidden Islands, you’ll needs to build and maintain your very own sailing vessel. It’s crucial to your survival, too. Once resources have been depleted on one island, how are you going to get to the next without it?
It’s come out of nowhere, but Windbound – Brave the Storm really does look like it could be something special. Just watch the announcement trailer below if you don’t believe us. And if you want to know more about the game, keep an eye on its website. Though of course, we’ll try to keep you up to date with any developments too.
