A standalone title set five years after XCOM 2, XCOM: Chimera Squad launches 24th April on PC.
Delivering an all-new story, XCOM: Chimera Squad is billed as neither a sequel nor expansion to XCOM 2. It does promise yet more tactical turn-based antics, however, and is launching with an attractive price.
Available digitally-only via Steam, XCOM: Chimera Squad has a suggested retail price of £16.99/$19.99. It’ll be available for just half that for its first week though – making it just £8.49/$9.99 for early adopters. That’s an absolute steal.
Highlighted features of XCOM: Chimera Squad include unique human and alien agents, each with their own distinct personalities and abilities, re-envisioned tactical combat, interleaved turns, and more. It’s your job to take control of the titular Chimera Squad and save City 31, a model of peace in a post-invasion world, from an underground threat.
You can pre-purchase XCOM: Chimera Squad on Steam now, or add it to your wishlist. A reveal trailer for the game is available below.
