DayZ is Free to Play on Steam This Weekend

Starting today, DayZ is free to play on Steam until Monday.

With a long bank holiday weekend looming for the UK, what better time to dive into some multiplayer zombie-killing action?

The game’s free-to-play weekend kicks off at 6pm BST (10am PST) today, and runs until 6pm BST on Monday, 25th May. To take part, you simply need to head over to DayZ‘s Steam store page and download and install the game. You’ll have full access to everything the game has to offer.

Want to play for more than just a weekend? The game’s also on sale over the free to play period. There’s a 40% discount available on Steam, PS4 and Xbox One. The Xbox One sale ends on 25th May, while PS4 players have a couple of days extra to grab it, until 27th May.

An open world online game, DayZ sees up to 60 players on the same map work towards the same goal; simply survive as long as they can. A lethal, unknown virus has turned much of the population into zombie-like threats, so it’s a hostile world out there. Work together or simply look out for yourself; the choice is yours – but you better take each decision you make seriously.

If you’re not sure whether DayZ is something you’d enjoy, jump into the free weekend on Steam. If you enjoy it, be sure to pick it up before the sale ends.
