No one likes to be skint, so if you’re playing through Mafia II: Definitive Edition you’re going to want to make some money.
There are multiple ways to make money in Mafia II: Definitive Edition. You’ll earn quite a bit just by completing story missions, but it you want to make more so you can upgrade cars or simply enjoy a finer life, there are numerous things you can do.
Perhaps the easiest way to make money in Mafia II is by stealing cars and then taking them to Mike Bruski’s crusher. You’ll generally get at least $400 per vehicle, and you can repeat it as many times as you like. Available from chapter two onwards, crushing cars is a particularly good way to earn money as there’s very little risk; you just grab a parked car, drive it to the crusher, and ka-ching!, it’s payday.
There are other ways to make money, however. Robbing various stores can earn you decent money, with clothes stores being the most profitable. It’s risky though, and you can only rob each store once per chapter. That really limits how much you can earn, and it’s a faff going from store to store.
Finally, later in the game you can also take cars to Derek Pappalardo at the docks for cash. He’ll export them and give you a decent amount of cash, but the problem is, unlike Mike Bruski, he won’t take any old trash. You’ll need to deliver very desirable cars, and those may take a while to find.
So, if you want to make money in Mafia II, locate Mike Bruski’s crusher and sweep the nearby area for vehicles. You’ll make thousands in no time at all, and you’ll find that many of the cars you’ve crushed will respawn after a short while.
