This summer has just got a lot more interesting for Switch owners, as Nintendo has surprise announced a new Paper Mario game that will launch in July.
Paper Mario: The Origami King finds Mario and Luigi being invited to the kingdom’s origami festival by Princess Peach. It all sounds well and good, but recently Princess Peach has been acting a little strange. It surely couldn’t be some kind of plot that will once again place Mario and co. in peril, could it?
Of course it is, otherwise there probably wouldn’t be a game, would there? Rest assured, Paper Mario: The Origami King is set to offer yet another comedic adventure as players attempt to thwart the dastardly plans of King Olly, the self proclaimed ruler of the Origami Kingdom.
A new ring-based battle system will feature in Paper Mario: The Origami King, testing your puzzle-solving skills to line up enemies and cause maximum damage. Mario has new abilities at his disposal outside of combat, too, like 1000-Fold Arms which allows him to revel new locations by pulling and peeling the scenery.
Exclusive to Switch, Paper Mario: The Origami King launches July 17th and will cost $49.99/$59.99. It’s available to pre-order right now, and more information can be found on the game’s official website.
