Launching 19th June exclusively on PS4, The Last of Us Part II has finally gone gold, developer Naughty Dog has announced.
The news is very welcome, especially with The Last of Us Part II suffering numerous delays. With the game going gold, it means that it is finally ready for release; it can now be put on discs or on online storefronts ready to be purchased by the general public.
The announcement was made by the Vice President of Naughty Dog Neil Druckman, presented in a Tweet by the official Naughty Dog Twitter account. Via video, Druckman states that The Last of Us Part II is the “most ambitious game they’ve ever made”, and no doubt in response to story leaks in the past couple of weeks he stated that “no matter what you’ve seen, or heard, or read, nothing compares to playing this thing from beginning to end”.
You can watch Neil Druckman’s message below, and The Last of Us Part II is now available to pre-order on the PlayStation store once more.
