Battletoads Launches 20th August on Xbox One and PC

Battletoads (1)

Despite them making cameos in numerous games such as Shovel Knight and Killer Instinct, things have been quiet on the Battletoads front for quite a while.

Worry not though, as Dlala Studios and Rare’s latest entry in the series now has a release date.

Battletoads will launch on 20th August for Xbox One and PC. Even better, it will be available via Xbox Game Pass, so subscribers to that service will be able to play it without spending any additional money. They can pre-install it starting from today, too. Of course, the game will also be available on Steam, though no price has been provided as of yet.

Reuniting players with Zitz, Rash and Pimple, Battletoads will provide a mixture of beat ’em up, platforming and racing stages. Players can go it alone if they wish, but the gameplay will really come into its own when played in co-op. Up to three players can jump in and out at will, adding to the mayhem. And with multiple difficulty levels, the game should be accessible to all, too.

With a few more weeks to go until the game’s launch, more information about Battletoads is promised soon, including a behind the scenes look at Dlala’s creative process. Until then, check out the new trailer below, add the game to your Steam wishlist, or pre-install it via Xbox Game Pass.
