How to Save Your Game in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town

Farming is hard work, so you certainly don’t want to lose your progress. Here’s how to save your game in Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.

Out now on PC and Switch, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is a remake of a 2003 game. It’s all about harvesting crops, raising animals and generally becoming rich off the land. But it’s not easy; you’ll have to put a lot of hours into the game before you start to see any meaningful reward. That’s why it’s more important than ever to save your game regularly.

Thankfully, saving in Friends of Mineral Town is easy, and there are a couple of ways to do it. In your house, you’ll find a journal by your bed. Interact with it, and you’ll be given the options of ‘Write in Journal’ or ‘Read Journal’. Don’t let the wording put you off; it’s simply asking if you’d like to save or load. Click ‘Write in Journal’ to save, then choose a save slot. You can have multiple save slots, if you’d like.

You don’t have to be inside your house to save, either. You can hit the ‘X’ button on Switch to bring up the in-game menu at any time. On there, you’ll find an option for ‘Journal’. Navigate to it, and click ‘Write in Journal’. Your progress will be saved, and you’ll continue next time from wherever in the world you are.

Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town does autosave too, so if you forget to save before turning off (or god forbid, your Switch or PC crashes), it’s unlikely you’ll lose too much progress. You shouldn’t rely on the autosave function though; it doesn’t save every action. You don’t want to have to harvest the same crops again now, do you?
