Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise wasn’t exactly the new cult classic we were all looking forward to.
In fact, it’s pretty abysmal. We reviewed the game, scoring it a ‘bad’ 3/10, with many of our criticisms calling out its performance. It freezes and skips, has a terrible sound mix, and horrifically long load times. So is it even worth picking up at all?
At the current time, the answer is a resounding no. Our review concluded with: “Ultimately, Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise just isn’t acceptable in this day and age. There’s simply no reason why a game should perform this badly.”
But Rising Star Games has taken to Twitter and promised that the development team are working on improving the title.
Thank you all for your feedback regarding #DeadlyPremonition2!

We would like to officially clarify that the development team are constantly working on improving the title and patches are in the works.
More news soon!
It goes without question that updates and changes are needed for the game, but without a lot of really big improvements Deadly Premonition 2 is still likely to be a bit of a disappointment.
We’ll certainly be waiting to see if Rising Star Games can pull off the comeback of the decade with this sequel that many fans were waiting a very long time for.
