We like free games. We especially like free games when they’re brand new.
The fact that A Total War Saga: TROY would be free on Epic Games Store at launch was announced back in June. But that day is today, and until 1.59 p.m. BST tomorrow, it’s absolutely free to claim – forever – on the Epic Games Store.
We clarify: forever. This isn’t a free trial, or a free-to-play day. It’s the whole game. And as long as you jump over to the store page and hit that little ‘get’ button, it’ll be added to your library forever.
A Total War Saga: TROY is the second spin-off game from the Total War series. The first ‘Saga’ we received was 2018’s Thrones of Britannia. They attempt to focus on a specific time in history, rather than covering the wider breadth of the mainline games. TROY is inspired by The Iliad, and focuses specifically on the Trojan War.
You’ll get to see the war from the perspective of both the Greeks and the Trojans. While much of what we know of the Trojan War may be steeped in myth and legend, A Total War Saga: TROY attempts to delve past the myths to give us a glimpse at the reality of the time period.
If that sounds like your sort of thing, be sure to download the game from the Epic Games Store before tomorrow at 1.59 p.m. After that time, it’ll be available for its usual retail price of £34.99.
Also free today on the Epic Games Store is Remnant: From the Ashes, and The Alto Collection. Both games will be available from 4 p.m., and will remain free to claim until next Thursday.
