Baldur’s Gate 3 Gets New Early Access Release Date

Baldur's Gate 3 (1)

Originally set to launch into Early Access in August, players will instead be able to go hands-on with Baldur’s Gate 3 this September.

During the Panel From Hell livestream, Larian Studios revealed that it’s aiming for an Early Access release date of 30th September for both the PC and Google Stadia versions of Baldur’s Gate 3.

Beginning their journey in Avernus, those who jump into Baldur’s Gate 3 during the Early Access period will be able to partake in 80 battles and make use of 146 actions and skills. They’ll also be able to encounter 596 characters, with 45,980 English dialogue lines. Basically, it’s going to be a hell of a lot bigger than Divinity: Original Sin 2 was when it launched into Early Access.

While the full extent of Baldur’s Gate 3‘s classes and races will be revealed closer to its Early Access release date, Larian has unveiled five origin characters, with more to be announced. They are Astarion, an elf/vampire rogue, Gale, a human wizard, Lae’zel, a githyanki warrior, Shadowheart, a half-elf cleric, and Wyll, a human warlock.

While the Early Access release date is not set in stone, Larian has assured players that it is working hard to get things done. If you’d like to see Baldur’s Gate 3 in action, including a pretty cool scene including a lobotomy, check out the Panel From Hell stream below.
