Wondering if you’re gonna need a cheeky PC upgrade before you can play DIRT 5 this October? Well, Codemasters has shared the required specs.
While you can’t run DIRT 5 on a potato, the minimum specs are fairly lenient, requiring a very basic processor and a graphics card that’s a couple of generations old.
If you want to get the most out of the game, though, you’ll need something much beefier. And we recommend that you aim for as close to the recommended specs as possible. Because, uh, that’s why they’re called “recommended” after all. In our hands-on time with DIRT 5 so far, we’ve been very impressed with how the game looks – and that’s something you’re only going to achieve if you have a more powerful PC.
To run the game, you’ll need Windows 10 64-bit, and 60gb of space on your hard drive to install it. The minimum specs for DIRT 5 require an Intel i3 2130 processor or AMD FX 4300, 8GB of RAM and either an AMD RX 480 GPU or an Nvidia GTX 970.
That’s not much to ask for, but don’t expect to be getting blistering performance from that. To get the most out of the game, you’ll need at least a Ryzen 3600 or Intel i5 9600K processor, 16GB of RAM and either a Radeon 5700XT or Nvidia GTX 1070Ti GPU.
