Here’s Ooblets’ Update Roadmap for the Next Year

Congratulations are in order to the Ooblets team!

Over on the official Ooblets website, Ben from the team published a short blog detailing some important information about the future of the game. Right off the bat, Ooblets has just received a new update which includes some small fixes, including NPC schedules and hair-related things.

If you’re playing Ooblets on PC, the update is now live. It’s currently going through certification on Xbox One, and should be live very soon.

He also shared a roadmap of the game, detailing the team’s projected plan up until the game’s launch in mid/late 2021. According to the roadmap, September will be a big month for Ooblets. The first major update, v.04 Nullwhere, is incoming, which adds a whole new region to the game.

The second major update is to follow in December, v.0.5 Wildlands. This makes the Wildlands area accessible, where you can go and retrieve rehomed Ooblets. The team is also contemplating other features, including snowy weather, but nothing is finalised yet.

And also, a baby! Rebecca, the lead programmer and artist for the game, is due to have a baby soon. Ben is keen to stress that this news – along with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic – won’t interrupt the game’s development too badly. Congratulations on your own little Ooblet guys, and we can’t wait to see how Ooblets develops over the next several months.

Becca knew that she would be addicted to video games for the rest of her life when she saw the first pixelated zombie shambling across her TV screen while playing Resident Evil 3. She particularly enjoys being scared, laughing until she cries, or just plain crying while experiencing games. When she isn't playing games she loves spoiling her cat Usagi and eating any kind of sushi she can find.
