If you had a button that would set off a blast killing millions, would you press it?
That’s quite a lot of pressure, but what if it was for the good of the world? 4 Minutes to the Apocalypse from developer Atomic Wolf has players controlling a member of the Arizona-12 submarine in the aftermath of a huge nuclear missile launch.
In the game a nuclear blast goes off and, while the explosion is over quickly, the after-effects are never-ending. No one knows how or why it happened or who it could have been that launched it.
The world changes to be “before” and “after”. Strikes were launched back-to-back wiping millions off the planet. Cities were levelled and governments suddenly didn’t exist anymore. Many of the survivors were left to try and pick up the pieces, but were met with panic and chaos.
In the Arizona-12, a secret submarine and military unit, people begin to fight with each other for control. Who should take over as the leader? Who has the most power? As you explore the submarine and fight with your fellow military members, things will get dark and strange. You’ll find weapons to defend yourself, but you’ll also have to hide in order to survive.
In the event of an incredible tragedy, what are us humans to do?
4 Minutes to the Apocalypse is currently in development and is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2021.
