Get those skeletons out of the closet because Halloween is on the way in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Nintendo hasn’t been shy about making sure that Animal Crossing: New Horizons players have new content to enjoy almost every month – and October is no different. It’s Halloween time!
On September 30th, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be getting a free update that will add some wonderfully spooky touches to the game. Players can expect to collect Halloween costumes and DIY projects that will get them into the scary, spooky mood. Not only that, but there will be new character customisation options as well as Halloween festivities to participate in.
Players that meet up with adorable sloth Lief will be able to buy pumpkin starts in-game to grow pumpkins all across their island. Lief will have pumpkin starts year-round after the update launches, but you can also purchase them from Nook’s Cranny during October. Once they grow you can use them in all your favourite fall DIY projects.
As for outfits, you’ll be ale to start buying costumes from the Able Sister’s shop. You will also be able to find body paint and coloured eye contacts by exchanging Nook Miles. You neighbours will have some new DIY recipes to teach you too.
What about on Halloween itself?
On Halloween night, your villagers will all be dressed up in their best costumes and will gather in the plaza, which will be adorned with tonnes of lovely Halloween decorations. You’ll meet Jack, the czar of Halloween – and if you give him candy you’ll earn some in-game rewards.
Along with this huge update, Nintendo has announced that the special edition Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition of the Switch console will be headed back to participating retailers, price at $299.99. Not only that, but Animal Crossing amiibo Card Series 1-4 will be returning to select retailers at $5.99 a pack. These cards allow you to invite characters to live on your island.
Start prepping your islands and get ready for the Halloween update coming September 30th.
