How to Call in Assistance in Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia

In Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia, you can call on your friends to help you out in certain situations. But how do you do it?

As you play through Trollhunters: Defenders of Arcadia, you’ll meet a number of friends or acquaintances you can help you out. Angor Rot, for example, can create a platform to help you reach higher ledges, and Toby can cannonball through blocks to clear a new path.

Once you’ve unlocked these assists, you’ll see them at the top of your screen. Press your right and left shoulder buttons (LB and RB on Xbox One, L1 and R1 on PS4) to toggle through all the available assists.

To call in assistance, once you’ve selected the right one, press both shoulder buttons together. Your buddy will appear on-screen right where you’re stood to perform their special assist move.

Make sure you’re stood in the right spot, because that’s exactly where your buddy will appear. If you need Toby to break through some blocks, for example, make sure you’re stood right besides them. And if you need Angor Rot to lift you up, make sure you’re stood exactly where you need the platform to appear.

Each assist has its own cooldown, so you can only use them sparingly. You can increase the cooldown speed by buying upgrades from Trollmarket, however.
