Whoever you choose to play as in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, at the start of the game their stats wont be very good.
They’ll be able to skate and pull off tricks, sure, but to get the real high scores and jump over the biggest gaps, you’ll want to upgrade their stats. To do that, you’ll need to find the stat upgrade points strewn across each of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2‘s skate parks.
Each of the skate parks in the game has numerous stat upgrade points to find – just look out for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater logos on jumps, etc. Most can easily be found by exploring. Once you have some upgrade points to spend, simply go the the skater tab on the main menu using the left and right shoulder buttons, then go to stats tab using the left and right triggers. There you can allocate skill points to a wide variety of skills such as speed, ollie, and air. You can also access the skater tab to upgrade your skills from the pause menu while playing.
It’s up to you how you upgrade your character. You could further enhance their strengths if you want, or try to make them more balanced. Ultimately though, you’re going to want to max out all of their stats so you can get some crazy scores.
