Left 4 Dead 2 Gets its First Major Update in 7 Years

left 4 dead 2 the last stand

It’s been quite a while since we visited these characters.

A new community update for Left 4 Dead 2 was announced a while back and players have can now dive in. Left 4 Dead 2: Last Stand has been made completely by the Left 4 Dead community and is the first major update in for the game since 2013.

What can players expect from this unexpected new adventure?

Well, the community has been hard at work creating over twenty Survival Arenas, four Scavenge Arenas and a Campaign based on The Lighthouse Survival map. You can also unlock new achievements, grab new melee weapons, listen to never-heard-before dialogue and more.

Originally, the lighthouse offered no escape for Left 4 Dead 2 survivors, but this time around, you can survive. Unfortunately, you’ll still have to fight your way through hordes upon hordes of undead.

The update also includes:

  • New animations
  • Official implementation of Counter-Strike: Source weapons in all servers
  • PVP enhancements and fixes
  • L4D1 common infected models with gore
  • UI improvements
  • Bug and exploit fixes

This is a massive update so players old and new will certainly be flooding back to the game to see what it’s all about. We certainly will.
