Everybody loves a bit of punching.
Bertil Hörberg, creator of Gunman Clive and Mechstermination Force, has announced that he’s been working on a solo project to get him through COVID-19 isolation. That project is Super Punch Patrol, an old-school beat ’em up inspired by the likes of Streets of Rage.
Super Punch Patrol is a classic beat ‘em up that takes place in the not-so-distant future. On the streets of Gravy City, a crime syndicate has taken control. Most of the government and police have been corrupted.
It’s down to Police Chief Anders Punch and his most loyal officers to take matters into their own hands. It’s up to them to take down Gravy City’s thugs and thieves, and do everything in their power to clean up their city. Kind of like a more punchy Batman.
Super Punch Patrol will feature three playable characters, two-player local co-op, and various costumes to unlock. Perhaps the most striking thing about it,l though, is its sketchbook-like art style. It’s certainly striking.
If you’re a fan of classic side-scrolling beat ’em ups, this is one to put on your radar. Better yet, it’ll only cost $5 when it releases on Switch on 17th September.
