All the Cheats You Can Use in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

It has all the cheats you would expect, including resource cheats, map reveal cheats and of course, the cheats that allow you to spawn in ridiculously silly units.

In fact, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition cheats go further than any other Age of Empire game by allowing you to spawn in a giant bust of George Washington that face-plants onto the enemy. Yes, really.

How to use a cheat in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

To activate a cheat in Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, simply press ENTER to open the chat menu.

From there, type in the cheat code you want to use – you’ll find a list below – and click ENTER again. That’s it; your cheat is now activated!

Be aware that cheats are not usable by default in multiplayer games.

Every Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition cheat code

Here is every cheat code that you can use in the game:

  • a recent study indicated that 100% of herdables are obese – fattens all the herdable animals on the map
  • Give me liberty or give me coin – Gives you 10,000 coin
  • Medium Rare Please – Gives you 10,000 food
  • <censored> – Gives you 10,000 wood
  • Nova & Orion – Gives you 10,000 experience points (to spend on cards)
  • X marks the spot – Reveals the map
  • speed always wins – Makes research, build time, gather time and shipment time 100 times quick (using it a second time cancels the effect)
  • this is too hard – Wins any single player game.
