As you make your way through Amnesia: Rebirth, you’ll eventually reach a fort.
One of your primary tasks in the fort is reaching a radio in one of its buildings, but getting to it isn’t so easy. Finding yourself trapped on the first floor, you’ll need to fix an elevator to continue your Amnesia: Rebirth journey.
To fix the elevator in the fort, you first need to find a winch. You’ll find one attached to a ballista not far from the elevator on the first floor. Simply click on it to pick it up and add it to your inventory. Upon returning to the elevator, open up your inventory, choose the Take Out option on the winch, and place it in the slot for it in back of the elevator. You’ll know if it’s the right place to use it as the outline of the winch will glow white.
To finish fixing the elevator, you need a plank of wood on which to stand. Otherwise, when you use the winch, the elevator will go up but you will not. Luckily for you, there’s a plank of wood right next to it. Grab it, and then place it in front of the winch mechanism. You can then use the winch, and the elevator will take you up to the second floor.
