You’ll soon be able to jump into the horrifying Black Hills forest in a full 360-degree environment.
Bloober Team announced today that its horror title Blair Witch is getting an Oculus Quest Edition. The Oculus Quest Edition has been built from the ground up especially for VR. It’s headed to the Oculus Quest on October 29th, 2020 for $29.99.
In Blair Witch, you play as police officer Ellis Lynch who has just joined the search party for a missing boy in Black Hills forest. The game takes place in a semi-open world, giving players a large map to explore and investigate. As players get deeper into the forest though, they’ll discover the sinister presence of otherworldly creatures and they’ll have to deal with the psychological trauma that goes with that experience.
Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition includes fully redesigned environments to make the game more interactable. It also accommodates new creature encounters. The game has also changed up its control system and mechanics for Ellis’s dog Bullet.
Some more of the changes that are unique to this version of the game include:
- The ability to draw on paper and other objects to map out your theories
- Snap branches with your hands
- Eerie new sounds and in game events
- New control system
- Catch, throw and stack objects
If you’re looking for a truly terrifying VR experience, then look out for Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition when it releases on October 29th, 2020. Release on other VR platforms is planned for the “coming months”.
