Jump into a dystopian cyberpunk adventure next year in The Ascent.
Neon Giant and Curve Digital have officially announced that the multiplayer action-RPG The Ascent is launching for Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2021. Originally slated for a 2020 release, players will now have to wait a little bit longer, but the new developer walkthrough video – which you can watch below – suggests it will be worth it.
In the game, players live in “The Ascent Group” arcology, a corporation-run metropolis. There you’ll find buildings that stretch higher than you can imagine and are teeming with diverse creatures. You play as an indentured worker who begins to run into trouble when The Ascent Group shuts down without warning. You’ll have to survive a world where rival corporations are looking to take over.
Players can expect The Ascent to have a free-roam playstyle, classic RPG mechanics where you can build up your character in gear, a double-aim mechanic and, of course, awesome co-op multiplayer.
The Ascent will also be arriving on Xbox Games Pass for Console and PC at launch, meaning members will be able to play at no extra cost. The game will aim for 4K 60fps on Xbox Series X.
