Control: Ultimate Edition is Now Available on Switch – Via the Cloud

Control 4 (1)

It seems that the power of the cloud has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch in the west.

From today, you can purchase Control: Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version on Nintendo Switch. Available via the eShop, an ‘Unlimited Access Pass’ will cost £34.99, allowing you free access to the game. Of course, you’ll need a steady internet connection to be able to play.

Cloud streaming on Switch is something that has been available in Japan for some time. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Resident Evil 7 were both made available on Switch via streaming in Japan, but those games never saw a western release. It’s an interesting way to bring games that demand more power onto the modest hardware of Switch.

Control: Ultimate Edition – Cloud Version contains access to the base game, both expansion packs and all additional game modes. Players will also benefit from various graphical options: an ‘Enhanced Graphics’ mode allows you to play at 30fps with ray tracing, while ‘Enhanced Performance’ aims for 60fps.

If you’re yet to play Control from Remedy, it’s a sci-fi thriller that puts you in the shoes of Jesse Faden. Exploring the Federal Bureau of Control building, she finds herself involved with dark and mysterious goings-on. Good thing she’s prepared for it, with her telekinetic powers.
