Another title has been pushed back to next year.
Modus Games has announced today that its JRPG title Cris Tales has been delayed from November 17 to 2021. The game is still set to release for Switch, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Stadia as well as next-generation consoles.
In a statement posted on Modus Games’ website, the CEO of Dreams Uncorporated and SYCK Carlos Rocha, has said: “we want Crisbell’s adventure to be narrated in the best possible way, so we hope you take this extra time as the time we need to polish the experience we’re sure you will all love and cherish.”
Rocha acknowledges it wasn’t an easy decision, but he and his team want the game to be the best it possibly can be.
“Cris Tales is the biggest project we have ever worked on, and we want to get it right,” Rocha says. “As you probably know, most areas and people in the game must be created at least three times, if not more to show the different past, present and futures. So, in a way, it’s like developing three different video games at the same time. Three video games that must be impeccable so that we can deliver all the magic we have in our soul to all of you. We want to make sure to earn all the love you’ve all shown in our events, demos, previews and so much more.“
With that being said, pre-orders for Cris Tales are available now for any platform including PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. If you pre-order a retail copy of the game, you’ll receive a bonus poster.
If you want to try Cris Tales, a free demo is available now on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC. To find out more about the game, you can read our hands-off preview from this summer.
The developers will be holding a Reddit AMA to discuss the delay further on October 16th at 12pm PT.
