In Torchlight 3, your inventory fills up pretty quickly, so you’ll want to sell items frequently. Here’s how to do it.
In Torchlight 3, you essentially have two inventories: yours, and your pets. Both have 20 slots each, so they fill up rather quickly if you pick up each piece of loot that drops for you. You can move items freely between both inventories though, which is useful for item management.
There are two ways to sell your items in Torchlight 3. The first way is very useful while you’re out on a quest and don’t want the hassle of making a trip back to town. You can choose to send your pet to town, and in doing that, it will automatically sell everything in your pet’s inventory.
So, ensure your pet is only carrying the items you want to sell. Open your pet’s inventory, then press the left shoulder button to “send to town”. Your pet will be gone for around 2 minutes – you’ll see a counter in the top-left hand corner of your screen. Once they return, their inventory will be emptied and your bank balance will be slightly higher.
You can also sell items yourself by visiting a vendor in town. Any vendor will buy your items from you. Interact with a vendor, then navigate to the right-hand side of your screen – this is your inventory. Clicking on any item will sell it (you’ll be prompted before selling legendary items to minimise accidental sales). You can also sell any items in your pet’s inventory in bulk.
Be aware that you do have a maximum limit on how much money you can carry, so don’t sell items if you can’t hold any more money.
